On 9 February 2026, Ambassador Paul Schmit presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, H.E. Nikos Christodoulides, during an official ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Lefkosia. This marks the formal beginning of Ambassador Schmit’s mission as the non‑resident Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the Republic of Cyprus.

The bilateral relationship between Luxembourg and Cyprus continues to be characterised by constructive cooperation across a broad range of sectors, reflecting the strong ties shared by the two EU Member States.
